Sue Cave has more than 15 years-experience of supporting primary schools to deliver a foreign language. Her aim is to ensure that colleagues in schools have the confidence and ability to deliver high quality language lessons which meet the requirements of the Key Stage 2 Programme of Study. This support is provided through methodology and linguistic upskilling video training sessions.

Cave Languages Schemes of Work

Methodology Videos

To support the delivery of the Cave Languages schemes of work, there are 3 videos for each single year or mixed-year group as well as for the Fast-Track scheme of work. They are designed to be viewed at the start of each term. They can be accessed when and as many times as you wish.

Introduction to the Schemes of Work Video

There is a video available for schools about to adopt either the KS2 or Mixed-Age Cave Languages Scheme of Work. It can be accessed and viewed as many times as you wish.

Introduction to the Phonics Method Video

French Language Upskilling

Grammar

For anyone delivering French lessons in primary schools and lacks confidence in knowledge of French grammar. There is a training video for teaching in lower KS2 and one for upper KS2. They can be accessed when and as many times as you wish.

Pronunciation

For anyone lacking confidence in French pronunciation. There are two training videos available. They can be accessed when and as many times as you wish. The activities are interactive and use the 'Physical French Phonics' resource.

French Pronunciation 1 - one session of 1 hour 30 minutes

French Pronunciation 2 - one session of 1 hour
